The Santa Barbara Jazz
Society is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote and
support jazz through a variety of activities. The SBJS was formed in
1995 to promote jazz and produce events for the community of jazz
musicians and jazz buffs. Since then, we have hosted many outstanding
jazz performances with our area's finest musicians along with
recognized names in the world of jazz. We are very proud of our
scholarship program which opens new doors of opportunity within our
high school music departments for performance and funding.
Our concerts are open to
all, however, membership has its advantages. SBJS members receive a
reduced rate at all of our monthly concerts and are welcome
to our semi annual private parties. Members also receive discounts on many local
concerts with internationally known performers. (Each year a 10%
discount to SBJS members for the Lobero's "Jazz At The Lobero Series"
and their "Hot Licks and Frets Series". ) For membership information, please see our website
www.sbjazz.org.
The Santa Barbara Jazz
Society is dependent upon the dedication of volunteers who help at
the gigs and serve on our committees and board. If you would like to
join us in any capacity we would welcome your involvement.
