UPCOMING CONCERTS 2018-02-23T15:29:05+00:00

Swing Shift Orchestra

Sunday March 11th, 2018 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
SOhO 1221 State St # 205, Santa Barbara, CA 93101

The Santa Barbara Jazz Society is excited to bring back the swinging big band, Swing Shift on March 11 at SOhO from 1 to 4pm. If you like Count Basie you are going to LOVE this band! These players might not be young, but it’s obvious they love to play and have the chops to prove it. Last year we were blown away with their sound and enthusiasm. Leader, Ralph Diz Mullens, a former member of the famed Charlie Barnet band, provides the band with many of his own arrangements and also entertains listeners with historical accounts of much of the music in the band’s repertoire. Vocalist Jan Nelson is the quintessential big band singer and is a delight to see and hear.
