Sunday September 7th, 2014 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm SOhO 1221 State St # 205, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
The Santa Barbara Jazz Society is proud to present one of America’s premier artists, vocalist Wesla Whitfield, in concert at SOhO on September 7, from 1 to 4pm. Jazz Society President, Ian Bernard, writes: “About 14 years ago I did a summer symphony tour with Michael Feinstein and the opening act was a singer named Wesla Whitfield. Her choice of songs, her pure tone, and her presentation gave new meaning to the word perfection. I then heard her again at the Algonquin Hotel in New York and again was in awe of her interpretation of songs you’ve heard before in a combination of Cabaret, Jazz, and Broadway. Wesla and her pianist husband, Mike Greensill, will delight you with their brilliant arrangements of the American Songbook. This is a rare occasion! Don’t miss it!” And just in case you are in doubt about attending here’s another quote: “She thrills me when I hear her”-Tony Bennett.
