1964937_673285469396081_1216735154_nIn all my playing years (70 plus) I have never met a woman who plays good jazz trombone. In fact, I have never met one who even plays bad jazz trombone. On Sept 20th that’ll all change because Aubrey Logan is going to perform for the Jazz Society. Not only is she a great Trombone player but she sings up a storm on all of the great jazz songs we love. In fact she won first place at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in the vocal Jazz competition. In fact she’s so good I insisted on playing for her along with Richard Simon on bass and Paul Kreibich on drums. The Santa Barbara Jazz Society has a long tradition of presenting outstanding women vocalists. I guarantee you’ll say it continues when you hear Aubrey Logan. She’s wonderful!!

-Ian Bernard, SBJS President

Aubrey Logan is an award-winning artist with vocals that range from deep and electric, to delicate and vulnerable. She breaks traditional genre barriers by combining jazz vocals with R&B, neo-soul, pop and a touch of rock. She won the Audience’s Choice and Jury’s First Place Awards at the Montreux Jazz Festival Voice Competition in Switzerland, and has performed as a featured vocalist, horn player, and educator on stages across the United States and abroad.

1926793_673285396062755_3756313_nCurrently, Aubrey lives and makes music in Los Angeles, where her voice and talents have appeared on various television shows and albums such as the 57th Grammy Awards with Pharrell Williams, a Josh Groban single, ABC’s the Golbergs, and more. A native of Seattle, Washington, Aubrey remains close to her Pacific Northwestern roots.
